A Pet for Petunia

Meet Petunia.

More than anything, Petunia wants a pet. She tells anyone who will listen that skunks are perfectly awesome, with their cute little noses and black-and-white stripes, though her family has serious doubts.

“I’ll feed my pet every day,” she promises her parents. “I’ll take her for walks. I’ll read stories to her and draw her pictures.” She even swears to clean the litter box every single hour.

Her parents warn that skunks stink, but Petunia refuses to believe anyone could resist those big black eyes and darling stripes. If her family will not say yes, she is ready to march into the woods and risk the bears just to find one herself.

Petunia knows she can take care of a pet, but what happens when the pet she most desires is a skunk?
