A Stone's Throw

Lively and vivacious Isabella Edgeworth has led a sheltered life and finds herself as good as engaged to the younger, less adventurous of her two adopted brothers, William Fielding. However William is about to embark on a career abroad, necessitating an absence of some duration and leaving the inexperienced Isabella to the mercy of her first London Season and the attentions of an attractive and intriguing stranger, who ignites feelings she has hitherto never experienced. She wonders if love and marriage have to involve a choice between unprincipled passion and honorable mundanity and has to decide whether to give a man a second chance or if once bitten she is twice shy. As she awakens to her true feelings she wonders if her heart lies closer to home than she could have imagined.
‘A Stone’s Throw’ is a gentle, romantic fiction set in Jane Austen’s era of early 1800's England. It is a reasonably light-hearted look at the loves and marriage dilemmas of a group of young people.
