In this sequel, Sabaa Tahir cranks the action and suspense up to ten, pitting the unlikely allies against murderous and horrific antagonists. Tahir’s writing is dense and beautiful, evoking a world that’s shrouded in mystery and intensely dangerous. We were 100 percent invested in Laia and Elias’ fate.

Great read
This book is a great book but not as good as the first book. This book is more for teenagers than the first book since it is not as brutal and the battles aren’t as detailed and bloody.
