All The Reasons to be Afraid

It took months for me to trust that Rachel—the imaginary “friend” who’d hurt me as a child—was gone, years to convince myself I was just a sick kid with an overactive imagination. 


But I finally did it. I pulled it together, got well, and I never looked back.

On the day our school bus is knocked off an overpass, I’m just an average teen obsessed with becoming a professional dancer.


Now, suddenly my childhood tormentor is back and I’m on the run from Rachel and men-in-black types who want me dead. 


But this time I’m not alone. Jessie, the scariest misfit at my school, has an invisible tormentor too. But it turns out Jessie’s not so scary. He’s kind, brave, and as committed as I am to keeping us both alive.


Together, I hope we can figure out why this is happening. I never dream our investigation will lead back to the hospital where Rachel first appeared or to dark secrets that give us both even more reasons to be afraid.
