Dean is stunned by the latest developments here on the ranch, but grateful all the people he cares about are safe.

Soon though, the truth of what the ranch really is and his continued role here is spelled out. He will need to decide to return to law enforcement or have a life free of everything he has seen, to love Lexi somewhere else. As those around him decide in light of all the new developments, he will find most fleeing the ranch for other locales.

Lexi is his biggest factor holding back his decision, but he knows that he must do what his soul tells him is right despite a love for her. When she is faced with so many losses, is there any chance she will choose to remain at his side?
