Atonement

A chance encounter in the pub nets private investigator, Ed Case, his latest case. His new client wants Ed to find his girlfriend's murderer. Ed points out that murder is a police matter and cannot take the case on. His client informs him the murder took place fifteen years ago and the police convicted an innocent man. He knows this for a fact as he served fifteen years behind bars for a crime he didn't commit.

Ed and his business partner, Bob Brown, a former detective chief inspector are convinced that their client is innocent, even more so after a series of attempts on their client's and Ed's lives. Ed and Bob begin to dig up the past and open old wounds  with disastrous consequences.
