In this Spring edition of Australian Trucking Quarterly, we head high up into the mountains of Northeast Tasmania in the middle of winter on some muddy tracks to check out  a PBS logging configuration called the Dolly Logger. 


In the first of two road tests, we check out Scania’s latest V8 R560 on run from Adelaide to Mildura. The second road test is in a DAF CF85 tipper complete with AS-Tronic transmission.   


We check out a very well-presented Kenworth T909 and Barker B-Double curtain-sider combination and with worth looking at all the options in detail. 


Western Star’s lavish 4900 Roadstar has everything including the kitchen sink, pay particular attention to the kitchen sink, bunk and lavish entertainment unit. 


In an off-road feature, Scania reveal their first XT 8x4 that is about to commence operations in the harsh Pilbara region of Western Australia.
