Böhmische Bilder

Ausgangspunkt für meine Ausflüge mit der Kamera ist die kleine Oberlausitzer Stadt Zittau im Dreiländereck. Nicht oft, aber manchmal nehme ich jemanden auf eine Fototour mit. Jeder der mitkam fragte mich unmittelbar nach Grenzübertritt: Ist hier alles anders oder bilde ich mir das ein? Kaum ist dieser Satz ausgesprochen, schon sind wir im nächsten Land. Es geht von Deutschland über Polen in die Tschechische Republik. Innerhalb von wenigen Minuten ist man in drei Ländern gewesen. Und es ist alles anders.

Für dieses Buch suchte ich aus unzähligen, circa 300 Fotos aus. Aufgenommen wurden sie im Verlauf von ungefähr vier Jahren mit verschiedenen Kameras. Ich habe die Bilder im Buch ohne jeglichen Anspruch auf Vollständigkeit oder einer chronologischen Reihenfolge, locker thematisch geordnet, kleine Videos, gesprochene Texte und kaum bekannte wunderschöne böhmische Barock- und Renaissancemusik und eine grandiose Mazurka von Antonín Dvořák hinzugefügt.


Starting point for my trips with the camera is the small Upper Lusatian town of Zittau. Not often but sometimes I take someone along for a photo tour. Everyone who came along asked me immediately after crossing the border: Is everything different here or is this an imagination of me? Hardly is pronounced this sentence we are already in the next country. It goes from Germany via Poland to the Czech Republic. Within few minutes you have been in three countries. And all is different. 

For this book I was looking out of countless, about 300 photos. These were photographed within about four years with different cameras. I have the images sorted loosely thematically in the book without any claim to completeness or chronological order, supplemented by small videos, spoken texts and little-known wonderful Bohemian Baroque and Renaissance Music and a magnificent Mazurka by Antonín Dvořák.
