After arresting two teens for arson last fall and finding the body of a missing girl in the spring, Detective Samuel Campos determines to do more to protect the local kids. When he hears rumors about a man called Felipe, his curiosity is piqued. He senses there is more to the story than is being told.

Sam digs in, asking questions and pulling evidence from cold cases. However, the more he discovers, the more questions he creates. Even if he can track him down, too much about his case against Felipe is circumstantial. Sam is uncertain how to proceed—until threats come upon his own children.
