Hi, my name is Sue. And I would like to share with you my story. Just about 6 years ago I was working as a fast food restaurant as a general manager. I was making a decent living. I had always hoped that there was more, but I never had to worry for much. I had been dating a wonderful man for a while and we ended up getting married. Life was good, we had paid for our wedding and honeymoon ourselves, so there was no savings to speak of. Time marched on and we became pregnant! It was a complete surprise, but one we were grateful for. I went out on maternity leave and never looked back at my old time consuming job. But I did miss the paycheques. I began as a lower level manager at a locally fast food chain, and things were good. I wasn't bringing in the same amount, but close. With a little smart spending we were able to make it work.
One year passed by, and I realized that I had not seen any of it. I felt I had missed the first year of my child's life, and I fell into a deep depression. I would spend hours online in the middle of the night looking for a good reason not to go to work. I was always sick and sometimes not too pleasant to be around. Then one day I came across a book like this one. I was skeptical at first, but when I had made the first few discoveries the rest just came easy. I know what it is like to struggle, to be torn between your job and your family. I just finally chose. I was just lucky enough to be able to find something that was going to work for me and for my family.
