Belonging & Belongings

Belonging & Belongings is an international and interdisciplinary research programme led by Dr. Geke van Dijk, Dr. Daijiro Mizuno, and Dr. Bas Raijmakers. Our research explores the relationships between technology, society, and sartorial appearances by investigating how people express their identities through physical and virtual possessions. From 2007 to 2011 we conducted a series of studies in Japan and the United Kingdom, generating a rich collection of images, films, notes and magazines, from which we curated a selection to include in this book.
