Black Rising

Clarissa Black is a retired FBI agent about to enjoy her lottery winnings when her ex-husband, Joel Fisher, goes missing while on assignment for the NSA. She is thrust into the world of spy-vs-spy when an attempt is made on her life and the life of her best friend, Caro. When her car is blown up by a Mexican cartel looking to find a missing hard drive, Clarissa must go into hiding with NSA Special Agent Juan Gates and try to find Joel before her world is ruined. She finds skills she thought she had forgotten in retirement when she herself is taken by a sinister organization called "The Phoenix", an organization who seems to know more about her than just her name. On her own, with her mind as her only defense, she escapes them...or does she?
