When the power grid collapses without warning, the nation is plunged into a darkness that does more than conceal-it awakens something waiting beyond the reach of light. Cities fracture into fragile enclaves of candlelight and failing generators, while the shadows between them become hunting grounds.

Emergency operator Noah Vale survives the first night, but what he hears through dead communication lines changes everything. Voices from abandoned places. Pleas from the already dead. And something else-something learning how to speak.

As survivors fight to rebuild light, a growing cult known as the Last Current works to keep the world dark, believing humanity must evolve-or submit-to what lives within it. Meanwhile, creatures born from blackout voids stalk the living, draining them of life and leaving behind ash-filled corpses marked by something ancient.

In a desperate attempt to restore power, Noah ignites a fragment of the grid-only to discover the horrifying truth: the light does not drive the darkness away.
