A heartfelt remembrance of times past. Growing up on the East Coast of England before and during the Second World War, it's the story of an evacuation to the country, and the onwards journey through life - first jobs, romances, military experiences and finally security and a green and pleasant life. It's like a more rural version of John Boorman's Hope and Glory. It's a funny yet heartbreaking trip through lost, simpler times.
