In this book, the author tackles one of the wonders of the ancient world the Hanging Gardens of Babylon. They were described as a remarkable feat of engineering with an ascending series of tiered gardens containing a wide variety of trees, shrubs, and vines, resembling a large green mountain constructed of mud bricks.

This guide will cover the elements of design that give it that exotic Babylonian feel, and how to incorporate water and greenery to set it apart from all your other constructions.

What should you use to build the Hanging Gardens of Babylon?

The first step prior to building, of course, is gathering your material. The newest block type added to Minecraft is Quartz, which is an attractive, varied stone that can double as white marble. There’s really no equivalent block unless you mod the game. If you don’t know how to find Quartz, you need to go to the Nether. It’s the white ore mixed in with the netherrack, and is fortunately quite easy to find large quantities of. Outside of Creative mode, you’ll need quite a bit to finish this project, but the good news is that it’s the only material you need a large quantity of.
