Working with students in game-based spaces and virtual worlds is intensely rewarding. This is equally so for both face-to-face and online students, these spaces allow them to tap schema that they have developed over years of gameplay and bring it to bear in a real, educational setting. When we find a tool like Minecraft that offers so many of affordances, it is incumbent upon us, as educators, to open the doors, invite them in, and allow them to change it and make it their own.
