INTRODUCTION This paper will seek to demonstrate that there are a number of parallels between chess strategy and business strategy. As a corollary, it is arguable that playing and practicing chess may help business students, and in particular, students of finance and economics, to see issues more clearly, and to improve their academic (and later their professional) performance.
