In 1960s Cuba, Félix begins a clandestine affair with his colleague René. In a society where homosexuality is condemned as "counterrevolutionary", their love unfolds under the constant threat of persecution and political violence, ultimately forcing Félix and his wife Anabel into exile in London.

Years later, Félix's story is retold through the voices of those who knew him best: Virgilio, Anabel's devoted brother who stepped in after Félix abandoned the family; Anabel herself, long silent about the choices that shaped their exile; and Rita, the daughter who remembers a different father.
