Capturing Clouds

Travel broadens the mind, so we are told. Reading this collection of poems is rather like going on a journey. You will meet new characters – odd, eccentric, recognisable, funny, tragic, family characters. You will experience new places – or old ones that you thought you were familiar with until you read that poem. Sounds and sights suffuse Leigh Hay’s poetry in ways to leave you smiling, thinking, just occasionally feeling sad – but always enjoying the power of the placement of words to complete the journey. Author Biography:

Leigh Hay is a freelance writer and editor. Co-author of the best selling Mind Your Mind-Rational thinking strategies for children, Leigh is also a former ASG May Gibbs Nutcote Fellowship Writer-in-Residence. An award winning poet, Leigh’s work has been published in a number of Australian anthologies. 


Illustrator Biography:

David Hay counts himself extremely lucky to have a talented writer and editor for a partner. Since childhood, he has taken great pleasure in drawing, sketching and rendering from nature and is a keen amateur realist artist. He is absorbed with reproducing the fine details and interplay of light and shadow, and firmly believes that the undrawn lines in a drawing are just as important as those we see.
