Challenging the Gods

This is a story of two friends who travelled to Canada as children with their parents and like their parents, began to work in the coal mines when they came of age. They remained friends throughout their lives and engaged in conduct that marked them as strong and resourceful activists who shaped the community and the nation. They endured the many blows that one experiences in adapting to a new culture and the insipid condescension by others as they made their way.
