Combat Missions

"Combat Missions", a memoir written by a 97-year-old WWII veteran, traces the author's 31 months of wartime experiences in the U.S. Army Air Corps, 450th Bomb Group, 720th Squadron. Serving as flight engineer, Harmon's book describes his onboard duties, adventures, disasters, and comeradie of his fellow airmen. Facing danger daily, the book describes how the 20-year-old sergeant met every challenge, moving on after the war to a career in school teaching and administration in the Kansas City School District.
