Sirrah Winters is sixteen years old, she is sweet, smart, and a little timid. However, she is old enough to know that she is different from her siblings with her dark skin. She is old enough to understand what the strangers on the streets are whispering. Old enough to know the meaning behind her "best friend's" teasing. As soon as she begins sheltering herself, becoming more and more introverted, Sirrah begins to find friends that she thought would never have her back. Feeling a little off by having new friends, Sirrah knows what people think about her when they see that her siblings are a different color than her.
