In a world of magic, one’s blood status and place in society is something worth killing for.



Imprisoned in her room for her unconventional ideals, and betrothed to a man she does not love, Alexandra Hamilton dreams of running away. One night, while on her nightly escape from the castle, she meets Jay, a single father with a dark past and a deadly secret. Inexplicably drawn to one another, they begin to spend more time together, even if doing so can get them both killed. But as they get closer, they accidentally stumble upon a political plot which threatens to plunge the nation into war and put everyone Alex cares about at risk. Determined to protect her friends, Alexandra will venture into a world of treason, resistance cells, and ancient gods as she struggles to survive, all while trying to be free.
