Dawkin

"The rest of the crowd watched, jaws dropped and eyes wide open. Some gave menacing looks, others puzzlement. As the Void and the mastiff walked toward the counter, others moved aside to stay away from them. Greene had heard about the Void before, but he had never seen one." 

The year is 1887, eighteen years after an alien race known as the Void crash-landed on an alternate version of Earth. Soon after, most of the Void were killed in an accident. Dawkin, a young Void who lost his parents, has just lost his adoptive father figure in a suspicious fire. To make matters worse, the love of his life has been kidnapped. Dawkin and his trusty side-kick, a large bull mastiff called Brutus, travel in search of her. Along the way, the pair meet many people-some with good intentions and some who are out to stop them.
