Beschreibung des Verlags

"Dead Wrong" by John Haynes is an historical novel based on the Arizona range war between the cattle-herding Grahams and the sheep-herding Tewksburys over water and grazing rights. Their conflict, the Pleasant Valley War (also referred to as the Tonto Range War or Tonto Basin War), took place in Apache and Navajo counties over the course of nearly a decade from the early 1880's to early 1890's. This feud was one of the more violent in American history, nearly resulting in the destruction of both families. John spent several years doing extensive research about the war and the territory it covered. His research included looking at historical documents and interviewing descendants as well as doing several site visits. He diligently worked to capture both the feel of the landscape and the essence of the main characters who fought this fierce range war. The family is just interested in sharing John's work.
