Descent

Before memory, before time, there were Others. Beings not quite human, born of light and ruin. Their power was immense. Their wrath, absolute. When they came to claim a child from the tribe, one mother’s refusal had doomed them.
Fleeing from their old home, the survivors journey into the frostbitten unknown. Driven not by hope, but by desperation.
They discover the remains of another fallen tribe, marked by the strange powers of the Others, watched over by a silent white wolf.
It does not attack. It does not flee. It leaves a child behind. An omen. A promise. If the child survives the winter, so too might her adoptive family.
Yet the world may not survive what she becomes.
