Log line: A dentist, whose license to practice was suspended due to alcoholism, witnesses and may be involved in a murder while bar-tending in a blackout. Appalled, he then joins AA. An ambitious female detective, whose father died from alcoholism, realizes the witness/suspect must get drunk again in order to remember the crime due to a memory condition called "state dependent learning." Madigan struggles with the moral and emotional dilemma of tricking him to get drunk so she can solve the crime and advance her career versus supporting his sobriety in memory of her father.
Is Madigan going to follow the moral code of human decency or is she going to dive into the political arena of succeeding at any cost because the ends justify the means?
