Melanie Cartwright was jogging through the neighborhood when a mysterious, black car with flags on the fender followed her. When she arrives at work that day, her best friend tries to play matchmaker between Melanie and Karter, a new employee, and very handsome, employee. When Melanie arrives home, the mysterious, black car is parked in front of her house and her mother introduces her to Karter and Evander, representatives of her grandfather, who is a business tycoon.

Invited to accompany Karter to her grandfather’s California mansion, Melanie leaves New York for an adventure and a romance she never expected.
