Dragon Hunter Dragon Lover

Kanari has been tasked with killing the dragon that has been spotted at the edge of a quaint village by the mountains that deals primarily with strawberries. The villagers are understandably thrown into a state of panic by the presence of the fire-breathing dragon that hides in the shadows and threatens not only their livestock, but their very lives with it's very existence. 

She is the best dragon hunter in all the lands and the job, while difficult, isn't impossible for someone of her skill level. 

At least that's what she wants them to think. 

Kanari has a secret best kept hidden as she scales the mountain and shoots down the dragon, chasing it into the depths of a cave where she will finish her task. 

Except things are not quite that simple. 

You see, the dragon is in search of a mate and Kanari ticks all the boxes...

All the pieces of the puzzle fell into place and she stumbled back from him, fully intent on running as far away as her feet could take her, but it was too late. His hand shot out and gripped her by her wrist, yanking her back towards him.

Kanari was at a disadvantage. She had been on her knees, tending to his wounds. Her weapons were all out of reach as he twisted their bodies around, slamming her onto the ground with his hands on her wrists and his large body on top of hers, pinning her beneath him. 

"You've figured it out," he said with a pleased smile, his fangs so sharp and so close to her face that she felt her heartbeat speed up.

"I've walked into a trap."
