Duty

When Hali was a child, he'd held his father's absences against him. Now that he was Lord Warden, he understood. When the God-Emperor called, he must answer or suffer the compulsion.

Duty takes place in Sangrar, the setting for the Tale of Ages. It begins in the year 4632, ninety-four years before the God-Emperor exiles Hali.
