Edible Cacti

Even though we are well aware of the multiple ornamental-uses of various cacti plants, we seldom know that there are certain cacti species that can be used for food uses as well. Two most popular cacti species from genus Cactaceae that are used for food purposes are, Selenicereus spp. (previously known as Hylocereus spp.) and Opuntia spp. (prickly pear cacti).
