El Dorado Middle School

A school where innovation abounds, El Dorado Middle School has embraced redefining risk-taking, and reflection with a passion.  EMS students each have an iPad mini and access to Mac computers and other technology tools.  Every teacher has a MacBook Air and an iPad mini.  Students use Pages, Keynote, Numbers, iMovie, GarageBand, and other apps for personalized learning.  Parent-teacher nights are a highlight at EMS.  Students use iPad to create ebooks and presentations for their parents to see during the event.  Students explore real-world issues, solve authentic problems, and curate digital content.  They collaborate with other students through online book talks and dialogue with other schools in the U.S. about social science and political issues.  EMS focuses on personalizing learning for each student, and has seen continual improvement in test scores, cognitive skills, student engagement, and content creation that demonstrates learning.
