Entrelac Edge Hat Knitting Pattern

Make the cutest stocking hat (or sleepy cap) for the baby! The hat features an exquisite entrelac edge (there is each step of how to knit it in the pattern).
The pattern comes in newborn, 0-6 months, 6-12 months and 1-3 years sizes.
The newborn size is meant to fit the baby for the first two weeks. It makes a great coming home from the hospital outfit, and it also is the size that is preferred by newborn photographers.

The samples were made using Cascade Superwash 220 and 4.5mm / US7 needles, Baby Hugs Light and 5mm / US8 needles, Brocco Pima 100 and 4mm needles.
You will need: yarn (up 40 grams for the newborn size, up to 150 grams for the largest size), knitting needles to obtain the gauge (please make a gauge swatch! this pattern's gauge is 20 sts in 4in/10cm in stockinette stitch), darning needle to weave in the yarn ends and to sew the back of the hat.
The hat is knit flat.
