On a promising morning along Oregon's Rogue River, an eager fisherman sets out with a homemade fish-spotter, convinced he can outwit the hidden life of the water. Instead, he hooks a huge steelhead that begins talking back through his earphones, turning an ordinary fishing trip into a comic battle of wills. What follows is a sharp, absurd showdown between man and fish, where every trick meets a smarter countermove. As the angler and steelhead trade insults, the fight becomes a satirical argument over control, pride, and the ethics of "sportsmanship." The fish proves cunning, mocking the fisherman's efforts while dangling the lure of a better prize upstream: a pool full of nine large rainbow trout. Tempted, the fisherman releases his catch and rushes after the promise, only to discover he has been deceived. The supposed secret pool is a shallow fraud, and the steelhead escapes laughing, leaving the angler soaked, humiliated, and newly aware that fish can be just as devious as the people who chase them.
