Footes Creek

Footes Creek is a prestigious old country club with a restricted membership and distinct written and unwritten rules for men and women. When a series of grisly murders occurs, the club tries in vain to keep the whole mess under wraps.

Ed (Mac) McSorley is the chief of police in Dunhill, the posh commuter town in New Jersey that is the home of Footes Creek. Forty-two years old, Mac exists in an alcoholic haze since the death of his beloved wife two years ago. As he investigates the murders, he meets Abbey Mitchell, a member of Footes Creek and local realtor—and divorcée.
