Freedom's Gateway

Will democracy, freedom, equality and justice die the day the lights go out?

In the not-so-distant future, civilization will collapse.

In the aftermath, there will be factions seeking to dominate the one remaining commodity of wealth:

WATER.

No means of domination are too brutal to capture what is left to sustain life:

War. Propaganda to deem who is worthy of the water and who is not.  Oppression and silencing of opposition, through disappearance and forced imprisonment.

And, the destruction of what is left of natural resources.

But in a shattered future decimated by violence and tyrants, there is still a place of sanctuary that people seek.

That place is called Freedom's Gateway.

Many people have come here, and these are only a few:

There is the soldier, who is conflicted in more ways than one,

The teenager on the cusp of adulthood, who has never known anything but the reality of war and society's ruins,

And the freedom fighter, seeking to bring peace and justice into a despairing world. 

They have journeyed to Freedom's Gateway, searching for refuge and liberty. 

At Freedom's Gateway, their stories will come together.

Maybe there is more than one way to keep the candle of hope alive.

Even when the world goes dim….
