Friendly Fire

It's been a month since Agent Rick McCoy and his immortal partner, Dante Brand, stopped a devastating war between humans and the secret mythic community in Washington DC. Now they find themselves in a race against time to stop a murderer targeting mythical beings and taking their heads as trophies.

Serial killers in DC are nothing new, and the threat of public panic is all too real. The fate of the city brings Rick back together with an old friend, Metro Police Detective Maxwell Cooper. However, bad blood between Cooper and Dante runs deep. Soon Cooper's grudge not only threatens Dante and the case, but also places the detective at the top of their suspect list.

Every mythic in the city is in the cross-hairs of the killer, and even their human allies are at risk. Rick and Dante's only hope of ending the mythic killing spree lies in placing Dante's life in the questionable hands of Rick's old friend. Trusting Detective Cooper could give them the edge they need to blow the case wide open, or it could end Dante's centuries of service to the human race for good. As the body count grows, they're left with no choice but to trust the vengeful detective. But will that trust leave them open to friendly fire?
