From Hulme to Eternity

An Autobiography by Frank Walsh, depicting Hulme, a struggling suburb of Manchester, in the 1920's to 2007. Frank outlines his experience of being evacuated from the industrial suburbs to a remote farm in Catforth, on the outbreak of the 1939 War. The devastation wreaked by the bombing of Manchester, including the traumatic Manchester Blitz, is also outlined. He gives details of the many countries in Europe on which he toured on his bike, as well as racing on the famous Fallowfield track and also the beautiful Cheshire roads in time trials and massed start races. Frank details the infamous battles with Eddie Shah at the Warrington printing plant and the Rupert Murdock Wapping disputes with the NGA and SOGAT Print Unions. A recommended good read of the many happenings over the past eighty-one years of Frank's life, that will interest readers as to the trials and tribulations of yesteryear to the present day.
