G is for German Shepherd

This tale finds a German Shepherd named Silver on the trail of dognappers. With amateur sleuths Rodrigo and Samantha, Silver dog searches for a missing, prize-winning yellow lab across North Africa and other lands on the Mediterranean. In the end, Silver and her humans encounter an ancient mystery in the ruins of a Biblical city.
