Geiger Kentt, second-born among the coveted Selected, had molded a lifestyle that suited him just fine. When needed, he was content to travel the world with colleagues whose job was to thwart upsets in various corners of the globe. He had no wish to spend his days calling the shots in the upper echelons of his family's security conglomerate. A family who, were it not for a strange twist of fate, he might never have known. 

Family was a foreign concept to Stanelle Wagner. Family signified something permanent that had always eluded her- terrified her. She had no blood ties to the vast network of associates she considered her closest friends. Planting herself in the middle of one conflict after the next was a way of life that suited her just fine. 

The fling that resulted between these two renegades also suited them just fine- for a while. Geiger Kentt was too alluring for his own good. For Stan, permanent was becoming too much of a possibility. She would not- could not- allow them to become more. Geiger, however, would not- could not- allow them to become anything less...than permanent.
