German Epitaph I

70 years have passed since 1945, but still is the fact that a Holocaust was possible to define the identity of the Germans. How is the posthumous generation of Germans finished the problems that they left behind the 2nd World War and the Holocaust? Yellowed pictures are handed down, remain memories, a new start will be attempted. The text describes the post-traumatic processing of recent history. It is hardly possible to the concrete historical events, but much more to the tracks that have been embedded in the minds of later births.

Similarly the music, the audio book recital and in particularly the videos are an indirect circumscription of the complex of problems.

The project of „Epitaph“ will be presented in 21 chapters. Paul F. Cowlan spoke the text to electronic music of „Heroin“ arranged by Stephan Mathieu. Pictures form die videos of Joerg Franzmann are completing the crossmedia e-book. A foreword gives you some explanations.

The Digital Art Poetry Project "Epitaph" presents here 10 years after the first performance in the Gallus Theater Frankfurt a crossmedia eBook in a version that so in 2004, when the work began, was not even to imagine and represents now in 2015 a kind of prototype of this format.
