Giacomo Puccini

Born Giacomo Antonio Domenico Michele Secondo Maria Puccini, Italian composer Giacomo Puccini is considered one of the best operatic composers of all time. Second to only Giuseppe Verdi during his career, Puccini composed great operas like La Boheme and Madame Butterfly, works that are still performed today. His later works are considered the best in his repertoire as they draw on realistic styles using a form called verismo.
