Girls Like Me

Girls Like Me is a short story that touches on gender identity, diversity, how teachers can create more inclusive classrooms, and empowers parents to be advocates for their children. Inspired by the author's own experiences, the main character likes basketball, superheroes, and baggy clothes, all things that are "not for girls."

The story begins with Alex being excited for her first day of school and the new experiences and people that it will bring, only to have a less than perfect day.
