GLORIA'S SONG

I wasn’t raised in a family that had a lot of money, but to say we were poor wouldn’t have been accurate.

My mother and grandmother made sure of that by teaching us about God, loving one another and striving to be a better person every day and that made us richer than most.

They were our rock to lean on and the glue that held everything together for our family.

The sacrifices they made and the love they gave each and every one of us was a God send.

Anybody’s life they touched was the better for it.

We lost my grandma in January of 2002 and my mom in September of 2009.

Losing them two completely devastated our family and I personally can say it was the worst two days of my life.

Losing my grandma was so hard and then losing my mom just took me over the edge and I was messed up for a while.

When I lost my mom I wasn’t even thinking about writing a book and wasn’t in no shape to do so.

But about five years after she had passed away, her story was still in my head and I know I needed to get it out there, because I know it can help others and their family that are going through the same things as my mom and her family.

I know this story can help other people and believe they can relate to it because cancer affects all of us either directly or indirectly.

I first and foremost dedicate this book to my mom for being the kind of person we should all strive to be and also for fighting against cancer with a will to live like I’ve never seen before.

I would secondly like to dedicate this book to all the people who have fought cancer and to the ones that are still fighting cancer with a spirit and desire to never give up.
