Vampire hunter Damien's world is turned upside down after a fatal injury that should have killed him reveals an earth-shattering secret. He is half vampire, and half human. As a child he was told that his mother was killed by vampires, and learned to hate them. While trying to make sense of this horrifying revelation, he is forced to flee capture by both his former employer, The Guardians of Mankind, and the vampires who want to interrogate him to find out the secrets of his vampire slayer organization. He's on a quest to confront his father and find out why he was never told of his half blood status, but instead was turned into a vampire hunter at an early age. Lilith Mortemart is an old world vampire with a serious new world problem. She's contracted a disease afflicting older vampires that seals her doom. As she's turning into a Revenant, the Vampire High Council Law requires her to be executed as a means of protection of the species. As she secretly fights the encrouching madness of the disease, she goes on the hunt for a rogue vampire slayer, hoping that bringing him before the high council of vampires will solidify her standing with them.  She hunts down Damien, and once she captures him, she finds she's unable to release him into custody of the Vampire High Council. She cannot allow him to be tortured and killed, as his blood is the antidote for her crippling illness. Damien is her inamorato, her soul mate.  But can she convince him that they are destined to be lovers for all eternity?
