Growing Up Beautiful: Danielle Meets Her First Bully

The book series follows the journey of a little black girl that, through bullying, negativity, lack of representation, and body image issues - she learns lessons that help her to love herself, her family, and her friends. Through many life experiences, it is hoped that each book teaches children the importance of standing up for yourself, loving your body despite color, shape or size, and how family and friends can be your best support system. The book will focus on exposing young readers to understanding different emotions, how to deal with bullying, racism, family, and friendships.

The book's goal is to encourage a love of reading, writing, and self-love. It will teach children how to embrace differences, encourage family appreciation, provide positive visuals on Black families, and diversity in friendships.

All of the stories will come from real experiences from the author and adapted to a younger audience. It is hoped that after reading Growing Up Beautiful children will learn to not only love themselves, but to love others despite physical differences.
