In my doctoral research, I proposed a process for the visual translation of poetic lingual.
The success of my book titled “To Reach You, I Dream” with artists, art lovers, and critics, based on the process of visual translation of poetic texts of Mirza Ghalib, prompted me to paint my life seen through the words of Guru Nanak Dev Ji in the Jap Ji Sahib. In November 2019, having worked for nearly two years but with only two paintings, I created an E-book on Smashwords.com, coinciding with the 550th Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

Irrespective of that as my project was to visually translate the Jap Ji Sahib, and I continued to diligently and happily work towards it. Meanwhile, my husband's sudden demise, who passed away in my arms, left marked visual scenarios and lingering experiential images that I couldn’t get myself to paint. But my habit of reading the Jap Ji Sahib anchored me to my present, and as my understanding continued to progress, I experienced its intensity, which I hadn’t perceived earlier. Every day, my realization confirmed the authenticity of THE ALMIGHTY and ITS SCHEME.

My first edition of the lingual translation of the Jap Ji Sahib was demanding a reinterpreted, more complete second attempt. Contemplating the space of death within GRACE resulted in a long poem reflective of the Jap Ji Sahib. It also brought painting back to me. Hence, this edition includes critical changes with pertinent textual and visual additions. I must confess this wouldn’t have materialized without my first set out six years back. I realized that the concept of Japna is a very real and conscious reflection on the way life is most significant for deepening your understanding.

My offering is a humble submission of how Guru Nanak Dev Ji revealed THE ALMIGHTY to me. Assured that all living beings have a destined, unique journey, I urge you to feel this marvelous text in your context. His Jap Ji Sahib satiates the seekers in their quest around IT at multiple levels.

The structure of the former edition broadly remains, with the transliteration of Punjabi into the Roman script, followed by my English translation and the one-liners for each verse as its gist. I also sequentially elaborate on each step with a hint of a similar idea originating previously and mention a line from my poem for it. I still use different font colors and styles. I created sections of the Path for my convenient understanding that do not exist otherwise. The content of this book also offers a brief reference to the words and phrases connected with the practice of Sikhi.
