While growing up on Chicago's South Side in the 1940s, Hancock started playing piano when he was seven; four years later, he'd won a music contest and played with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. just read the sample…
…and got curious about the book. In the sample Herbie describes how he begun playing piano and discovered improvising for himself. Of course also the classic concert he played with the orchestra. The style is very heartly and warm and makes me interesting in the book. But I think till it’s translated to german and in the stores, because I don’t like online shopping… and I need a physical from my idol.
