HMS Warspite

Commissioned in 1915, HMS Warspite was the most powerful battleship of her age. 

From the thunder of the First World War creating a name for herself at the battle of Jutland and the mine-choked waters of the Dardanelles, then through sun-bleached decks and sweltering boiler rooms of the uneasy interwar period serving as the Fleet Flagship in the Mediterranean, and then following on to the brutal firestorms of the Second World War at Narvik, Crete, Salerno, and Normandy. This sequence of interlinked vignettes follows the men who served aboard Britain's most decorated battleship—the only one to fight in both world wars.

Told through the eyes of stokers, signalmen, clerks, and officers, this is a deeply human story of war and waiting, restraint and readiness.
