Anabel works hard to follow her dreams--whether that's going to college to become a doctor or chasing someone she's secretly obsessed over since sixth grade. Tony is the perfect guy--he's got looks, wit, and charm. Sometimes he can be a jerk too, but Anabel hasn't always been nice to him either. In fact, she's treated him like an enemy.

But when Tony unexpectedly comes to her rescue one night, she feels like she owes him. In the process of exchanging favors, they grow closer. Anabel learns that he's not just a guy with a hot bod, but a guy hiding a tortured soul. The more she learns about the shadows in his past, the deeper she falls for the guy she thought she already knew.

When they finally get a taste of being together, Anabel believes her dreams are coming true. But reality has a way of testing the strength of love. Anabel is forced to choose between the future she's worked for and the future she never expected. As the pressure builds, Anabel must decide how much she's willing to sacrifice for her dreams.
